
The hand-held computer ForensicFSU is a powerful data capturing system specifically designed for the requirements of law enforcement, military, corporate security, investigators, and auditors. The ForensicFSU simultaneously images and verifies data at up to 4 GB/min. The handheld system captures IDE/UDMA/SCSI/SATA, 1.8”, 2.5”, and compact flash drives.
With DD imaging and MD5 or SHA-256 authentication, the new ForensicFSU is the industrys most powerful and versatile data capturing system. The user may select varying "DD" image sizes, such as 650 MB, 2 GB, and 4 GB. These segments can be quickly placed on other media such as CD or DVD for further analysis
Features:
- CloneCard Pro Laptop Capturing (optional): PCMCIA capturing for laptops, using the enclosed CloneCard Pro. During the capturing phase, the PC is booted from a DOS floppy and the protection is momentarily disabled within the writeprotect adapter. Once the capture is finished the protection is once again engaged. All Forensic units are inherently uni-directional and do not need the protection during the capture phase.
- Built-in Connectivity Options: The ForensicFSU features built-in IDE, SATA, and USB cables. In addition there are optional adapters for 2.5", 1.8", and compact flash drives.
- Compact Flash Card: A 64MB compact flash card provides the user a quick method of updating the built-in software. The compact Flash card snaps into the chasis and can be accessed via the integrated USB connection. The user can then upload the current software release directly to the unit.

- Create DD Images on-the-fly: In addition to a native capture, the ForensicFSU capturing system allows users to create DD images at various sizes; 650 MB, 2 GB & 4GB. These images are then immediately ready for archival and/or analysis.

The ForensicFSU offers the user a choice of MD5 or SHA-256 authentication, on the source and destination drives, before and after capture. This ensures that the:
- Source drive has not been changed
- Source and destination drive match after capture.
- Source and destination do no match prior to capture.
