The Maxoptix optical jukebox family includes five different models allowing for 19 configurations, ranging from 104 Gigabytes to 1.45 Terabytes of storage. The MX6 series feature the new Star platform 5.2 GB drive (T6-5200). The T6-5200 has the exclusive turbocache system, the industry's first MO drive with 8MB cache and is ISO compliant and fully backwards compatible, supporting rewritable, write-once (CCW), and LIMDOW (Light Intensity Modulation Direct Over Write) MO media.
You get the flexibility to use applications requiring re-writing of data or the security of using write-once format. The T6-5200 optical drive supports a data transfer rate of up to 48 MB per second while the optical jukeboxes are designed to exceed the reliability needed for your most demanding applications. The MX models have a proven mean swaps between failure of more than 1,000,000 cycles on the MX620 and MX640, and more than 2,000,000 on the MX6126, MX6202 and MX6278.
The 126 slot and larger jukeboxes feature a Remote Access RS232 Port to allow for remote maintenance. This means less down time in waiting for maintenance repair. These units also feature a security password control to protect tampering by unauthorized personnel. The MX6126 and MX6202 are field upgradeable to a MX6278 and you don’t lose media slots by adding extra drives in any of the models.
The MX6 series jukeboxes have safety, emission and emmunity approvals. These jukeboxes are also supported by an array of third party software for applications including document imaging, hierarchical storage management, data backup and on-line disk emulation including full support for today’s most popular operating systems, including Win NT, Netware, and UNIX platforms.
